2024 Wrapped: Our Yearly Round-up

Merry Christmas!!🎄Let's Have a Little Festive Look Back...

What a year 2024 has been! From snagging shiny awards to launching festive delights and growing our team, it’s been a rollercoaster of bakes, buzz, and big wins!

 We’re closing out the year with full hearts (and ovens!) and want to take a moment to thank you for being part of the journey. So, grab your left over Rum Crunch slices and Homity pies from your last order, and join us🍴✨ We're looking back on the 12 delicious months that made 2024 really one for the books 😀

🎉 January: New Year, Same Delicious Pies!

The ovens roared back to life after the festive break, and we spent January fine-tuning your favourites. After all, January is all about resolutions... so there's no better time to perfect those gluten-free classics we all rely on to get through the winter blues ❄️

Plus, we celebrated Veganuary with our awesome vegan bakes - including the aromatic Ruby Murray pasty, our warming Carrot Cake slice, and our creamy Mushroom Stroganott pie 😋

❤️ February: A Month of Love (and Carbs)

Valentine’s Day meant indulging in your sweet tooth with our rich Chocolate Fudge Cake and sweet  Millionaire’s Shortbread. After all, nothing says "I Love You" more than a sweet gift for that gluten free partner! 💝

Behind the scenes, we were excited to be once again Gluten Free certified by SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) 🎉 We take allergies extremely seriously, so this was won of our most rewarding wins of the year!

🥧 March: Spring-ing Into Action


We ramped up production for our award-winners this month. Demand for spring favourites like our Homity Pie and Caramelised Red Onion & Goat’s Cheese Quiche had us working overtime – but we wouldn’t have it any other way! 😉

☀️ April: Bright Days, Baking Pies

With spring on the way out and summer on the horizon, we were delivering a lot more of our lighter bakes to help you picnic in gluten-free style! 🧺

🫖 From scones for your afternoon tea, to sausage rolls for out and about snacking, we had you covered 😎

🏆 May: Awards Season? Smashing It!

Taste of the West Awards brought in a mighty haul of golds for some of your go-to goodies: 🥇 Venison & Port Pie, Homity Pie, Sausage Roll, Chocolate Fudge Cake, and both the Red Onion & Goats Cheese Quiche and Red Pepper & Pesto Quiche!! 🥇

Plus, our Spinach & Squash Roll got a Commended Award, and we scored silvers for our 🥈 Carrot Cake Slice, Mushroom Stroganott Pie, and Turkey, Ham, Brie & Cranberry Pie 🥈 Not bad, eh? 🤩

🚛 June: Farewell & Fresh Starts

This month saw big changes. First of all, we waved goodbye to our time on QVC 👋  And, speaking of fresh starts, we welcomed Tom to the team - the man behind some seriously epic operations management!

🧑‍🍳 Also, we got the ball rolling on some awesome kitchen upgrades! Thanks to all of your support, we were able to take the equipment in our kitchen to the next level, making our pastry and fills EVEN better 😮

✨ July: Great Taste, Great Team

In July, our Homity Pie snagged a Great Taste Award, proving once again it’s the gluten-free savoury to beat!! 💪 We don't mean to toot our own horn here or anything, but they aren't known as 'The Oscars for Foodies' for nothing 😋🍴 

🍂 August: Restocking & Ready for Autumn

August is all about gearing up for the cooler months, and we spent it planning our festive launches. From the freezer to the bakery, it was all hands on deck ensuring your favourites were fully stocked for back-to-school season and beyond.

🍁 September: A Taste of Devon

The Food Drink Devon Awards brought more glitter to our shelves: gold for our Caramelised Red Onion & Goat’s Cheese Quiche 🏆 and silver for our Carrot Cake Slice and Chocolate Fudge Cake 🥈🍰

You heard us - your go-to gluten-free goodies are officially Devon-approved! (As if you didn't know that already 😉)

🎃 October: New Faces & Christmas Chaos

In October, we welcomed Holly, our new digital marketing executive, just in time for the festive production frenzy! ☃️

And the ovens were in absolute overdrive baking up Venison & Port Pies, Turkey, Ham & Cranberry pastiesRum Crunch Slices, Mince Pies, and a whole lot more.

Yeah, it may have been Halloween, but the Christmas countdown was officially ON

🏆 November: Champion Vibes Only

Now this month was huge for us... our Venison & Port Pie took home the big one - Champion Free From Product of the South West at the Taste of the West Awards!! Safe to say, the team was buzzing 🐝

This ultimate win really proved that using the award-winning know-how from our sister bakery, Chunk of Devon, and making it gluten free really catapulted our bakes and  2024 as a whole!! 

And to top it all off, we had a huge launch of our Christmas range to celebrate! The support for everything from GF Christmas Cake slices, to  Turkey, Ham, & Cranberry pasties had us completely stoked!🎅 

🎄 December: Sold Out & Celebrating

It’s official: 2024 has wrapped up with a bang 💥 (and a lot of sold-out bakes)! From Christmas Cake to Turkey, Ham, Brie & Cranberry pies, your festive favourites flew off the shelve faster than Santa’s sleigh! 

And for those of you who got your orders in early, we can guarantee your Christmas tables will be rocking some serious gluten-free greatness 😉

Meanwhile, one of our digital marketing managers, Rosie, added to the festive cheer by welcoming a baby to her family, bringing this year to a joyful close ☃️ 🕊️
