We take that one step FURTHER and celebrate the joys of Gluten Free Pie in all its glory!
But what’s British Pie Week actually about? And why do we get so stuck in every year? 🍴 Let’s dig in…
Launched in 2007, British Pie Week was originally a campaign to get more people eating pies (as if we needed an excuse)!! But over the years, it’s become a full-blown celebration of the UK’s most iconic comfort food!! 😋
We’re talking about a centuries-old tradition – pies have been a British staple since medieval times 👑
And let’s be honest, no other country does them quite like us!! Whether it’s a handheld pasty, or a deep-filled pub pie, the humble pie is truly Britain on a plate!
And as a bakery obsessed with making gluten-free pies that taste just as awesome (and better) than gluten full ones, we HAD to get involved...
Of course, you can’t have British Pie Week without the British Pie Awards! 🏅
Held every year in Melton Mowbray (aka the home of the pork pie), these awards are basically the BAFTAs of the pie world 😉
The best bakers, butchers, and pie-makers from across the UK battle it out for pastry perfection, judged by pie-loving experts who take their job very seriously (and can you blame them?!)
We’ve been throwing our gluten-free hat into the ring since 2022, and we’re pretty proud to say we’ve scooped up a few shiny British Pie Award wins over the years – including multiple awards for our epic Steak Pasty! 🏆
