What the heck is a Homity Pie?

We get this question all the time, and it never fails to crack us up. We’ve been baking our Homity Pie for several years now, so it's like an old friend to us. But hey, we get it—if you haven’t been introduced, let us do the honors.

The Homity Pie Breakdown

An open-topped pie loaded with potatoes, mixed with both Cheddar and Red Leicester cheese, onions, a hint of garlic, and some herbs for that extra tweak. We pack all that goodness into our tremendous gluten free pastry base. Then we hit it with more of that strong Cheddar and Red Leicester cheese, on top, and what do you get? A crispy, cheesy masterpiece. Your taste buds will thank you. Mmm, pie heaven.

A Little Slice of History

The origins of this pie are a bit of a mystery. Some say it’s a throwback to the Second World War, when the land girls were whipping up meals with whatever they could find—spuds and onions aplenty, while cheese and butter were like gold dust. But here’s our favourite theory: It’s a classic Devon delight, loaded with that legendary West Country cheese and. Sounds like a dream come true, right?
