How To Spruce Up Your Christmas Plate!
With only two weeks to go until the big day, here are three festive, fun side dishes that pair beautifully with both our Sprout Pie!!)
So, why not pop open a bottle of mulled wine, throw on your apron and whip up these beauties for Friday Pie Night?!
🧄 1. “Holly-Jolly” Roasted Garlic & Herb Brussels Sprouts
If you weren’t aware, we’re big fans of sprouts at Chunk (have you tried our Sprout Pie?).
If you’re having them on the side of your meat-stuffed festive pie then here’s how we’d dress them up!
Ingredients:
- 500g Brussels sprouts, halved
- 3 tbsp olive oil or a mega-generous knob of butter
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed to smithereens
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme (or a handful)
- 1 tbsp honey
-
Salt & pepper
- NOT optional: a snowfall of grated Parmesan
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F/180° Fan) - sprout spa day begins!
- Toss sprouts with oil, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Roast for 20–25 minutes until they look slightly crispy and entirely irresistible.
- Drizzle with honey and toss again.
- Finish with Parmesan (sprouts should never be eaten without cheese in our opinion!)
Pairs well with: Our Turkey Pie’s creamy richness and venison’s deeper, gamey notes. YUM!
